This Cookie Policy explains the cookies and similar storage technologies (localStorage, sessionStorage) used by iresthailand.com. It complements our Privacy Policy.
1. What is "similar storage"?
We rarely use traditional HTTP cookies. Instead, our site uses your browser's localStorage to remember a few small settings (consent choices, your visitor identifier, language preference). Under the EU ePrivacy directive and Thailand's PDPA, localStorage is treated equivalently to cookies for consent purposes.
2. Categories
We organise storage into four categories. You control all but the first via the consent banner.
Essential
Always on; cannot be turned off without breaking the site.

3. How to control your consent
The cookie banner appears on your first visit. You can:
- Accept all — turn on all four categories.
- Essential only — leave functional, analytics, and marketing off.
- Customize — choose each category individually.
You can change your mind anytime: scroll to the footer and click "Cookie preferences" to reopen the banner. You can also wipe everything, including your visitor UUID, on /data-rights.
4. What happens if you reject non-essential
- No
ires_visitor_idis generated. - No BID funnel events emit. The site still works; we just stop learning about your preferences.
- No Meta Pixel fires.
- The site cannot personalise recommendations beyond what you click on within a single session.
5. Your browser controls
You can also block or clear localStorage directly from your browser settings. Doing so will reset your consent record (the banner will reappear) and erase your visitor UUID.
6. Third-party cookies on linked sites
Linked external sites (developer pages, Google Maps embeds, Meta) set their own cookies under their own policies. We cannot read or control those.
7. Updates to this policy
If we add a new category or processor, the consent version is bumped and the banner reappears so you can review.
